The staff were really friendly. My wife had the vegetarian sandwich, which she thought was great. My sausage was excellent. Really meaty and tasted great. The mash was good. The cocktails at £9 for one and £14 for two were a bargain (the wife obviously had two). I had a Landlord’s, which was as good as it gets.

We were driving from Monmouth to the Scottish Borders and spotted this place on Search for Sites. What a find! It was pie night...and we had the best ham and leek pies. Absolutely crammed with filling and served with proper mushy peas, I'm guessing made from dried peas, but not the mushy us southerners buy in tins, and the thickest tastiest gravy. We opted for a side of chips between us ...another good choice. Plus each meal came with a free pint of beer so Mr was happy. Very reasonably priced food and a most welcoming pub A very quiet stopover and one to remember on future travels. Thank you for your hospitality

Stopped here while on holiday for Sunday lunch as it was dog friendly, they had dog biscuits and water available as you go through the door. I had the roast lamb which was melt in the mouth and delicious. The staff were so accommodating and friendly so it’s a thumbs up and a five star review from me.

Really good food and excellent service. Don't let the outside Sports bar look put you off!
